Nigeria is working towards the permanent repatriation of its willing citizens from South Africa, to their home country following protests against illegal immigrants. The Nigerian Citizens Association in South Africa's leader Frank Onyekwelu says out of frustration several ...Nigerians have closed their businesses, and are now willing to return home.
Unemployment has been part of the problem, with many young South Africans accusing immigrants of taking over their jobs. The country has one of Nigeria's largest diaspora populations, with thousands of documented and undocumented immigrants.

Opposition party ActionSA MP Dereleen James has criticised the deployment of the soldiers in some of South Africa to assist police to fight gang violence and illegal mining.
Following President Ramaphosa's announcement, over 2-thousand troops have been deployed to ...townships in Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Free State, and North West provinces until March 2027.
Their deployment focuses on high-crime areas to restore order. The party's James says no update has been given to Parliament since the start of the deployment a month ago.

Motorists have been urged to be vigilant following a rise in adulterated diesel also known as "dirty fuel" in South Africa. This form of fuel is often mixed with other substances such as paraffin to increase profits.
An investigation by the Department of Mineral... Resource and Energy in 2024 also uncovered that several petrol stations across the country were selling dodgy diesel to customers. The warning comes amid escalating fuel prices due to conflict in the Middle East.
