Long before digital sound and modern production, African communities created rich musical traditions rooted in storytelling, spirituality and community.
#Ngororombe, a traditional panpipe instrument from parts of Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique,... was used in ceremonies, celebrations, healing rituals and storytelling.
Made from reeds or bamboo, its soft rhythmic sound blended with singing, drumming, dance and collective participation, reflecting Africa’s deep indigenous musical heritage.
Mmatsheko Mosito speaks to Othnell “Mangoma” Moyo, a Zimbabwean cultural & heritage leader, master musician and author about the significance of the Ngororombe.
